Customer need
Ablemans LCS Oy’s procurement included a ship gangway for a Virgin Voyages project. Alongside manufacturing, the package required quality control, anti-slip surfaces, testing, packaging and delivery on the agreed schedule.
Solution
Procurement was organised as a complete package combining cutting, welded assembly, anti-slip surface fabrication and assembly with quality control and testing. ISPM 15 packaging and delivery were also included in the project.

We were responsible for procurement of the complete package, manufacturing management and delivery coordination. Our role was to keep the different manufacturing and delivery stages within the same well-managed procurement process.
Implementation stages
The project scope covered the following stages. Quality control was part of the package alongside manufacturing.

Manufacturing for the project included cutting and welded assembly.

Anti-slip surface fabrication and assembly were included in the same delivery package.

The project included quality control and Bureau Veritas testing.

The package included ISPM 15 packaging and delivery coordination on the agreed schedule.
Outcome
Procurement, manufacturing management and delivery of the gangway were carried out on the agreed schedule. In addition to manufacturing, the customer’s package included quality control, anti-slip surfaces, assembly, Bureau Veritas testing and ISPM 15 packaging.
